G & M Operating Company is a diversified design and detailing firm. Its ten highly skilled staff members have nearly 275 years of experience in structural steel and piping fabrication for the Marine, Industrial, Commercial, and Offshore Industries.

Marine Division

Our Marine Division is anchored by one professional engineer and three senior marine designer/detailers who have more than 145 years of experience in the design and detailing of barges, tugboats, towboats, and floating dry docks.

Our barge experience encompasses double-skin tank barges (both carbon & stainless steel), hopper barges, crane barges, and flat-deck work barges for such entities as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville Bridge, Jeffboat, Trinity Marine, Maxon, Platzer Shipyard, and Dixie Carriers, to name a few.

We have extensive piping experience in designing cargo, vapor, ballast, stripping, hot oil, and steam systems.

Industrial/Commercial Division

Our Industrial/Commercial Division consists of three senior detailer/checkers and three detailers. These six men have nearly 130 years of experience that ranges from heavy framing to misc. platforms, ladders, and stairs.
